VOLCANO RILI — Where Breeding Precision Meets Wild Aesthetics.

Volcano Rili originates from the Larmax Rili breeding system and represents a line that Larmax has successfully developed and gradually stabilized in recent years, known as the Volcano Series.

Building upon the structural characteristics of traditional Rili shrimp, we adopted “Golden Back Coverage × Shell Density × Clear Segmentation” as the core breeding criteria. While preserving the transparent mid-section that defines Rili shrimp, we further intensified color density and shell thickness to create a stronger visual contrast and overall presence.

Volcano Rili is not merely a more intensely colored Rili shrimp.It represents a phenotype that combines a sense of primal wildness with refined breeding aesthetics. In the aquarium, the solid coloration and the stable, extended dorsal line create a highly recognizable appearance, allowing the Volcano Series to gradually emerge as a distinctive visual identity within the Larmax line of Neocaridina shrimp.

During the early stages of breeding, this line was commonly referred to as Golden-Back Red Rili or Golden-Back Orange Rili. Through years of precise and consistent selection, the dorsal coverage, shell thickness, and color expression gradually stabilized, and the line evolved into what is now recognized as the Volcano system.

This change is more than a shift in name; it symbolizes the maturation of the line and reflects Larmax’s ongoing journey of transforming ornamental shrimp breeding from a philosophy into a recognizable brand identity.
